LAN not working

went as far as disabling all firewalls and adding to same workgroup - the most frustrating lan experience since the early 2000's. Please let me know if you need me to run any tests but where I am internet is poor and lan would be preferable

Try not checking the LAN box when doing the direct connect. Got this game when it first came out I have had to not check that box in order for it to connect to my LAN server.
