SIlverdaggerI have the exact same issue when playing solo - i poked around the game files a bit and noticed that after the update all game files are compressed before they are saved to the drive. My guess is this stutter could be a result of that process. Does anyone know if a server option exists to prevent the compression?

Iris RoseI experienced the same thing today on my private server. It's quite annoying when fighting V bloods.

DragosSame here. Tried to repair, redownload, etc. Lagging and rubberbanding in LAN server and solo play... Constantly.

KomurotoI only seem to get this issue on horseback

TristaSame here. I've tried reinstalling, going down to absolute minimum settings, disabling most features in the gpu control panel, closing everything else while playing, windowed, and fullscreen. Nothing seems to make a lick of difference.

Filippa AdminWe are suspecting this is caused by lag spikes during autosaving. Disabling save file zipping might decrease the lag possibly causing this connection issue and might be worth a try. Autosaves will still be made but will take up more space on the disk.
Information on how to disable save file zipping is listed in this article under "Connection/Rubberbanding Issue": https://guides.playvrising.com/hc/en-us/articles/11013326945821
Please let us know whether this solves the issue for you. Thank you for helping us investigate the cause of this issue. -

Gabriel AngelFoxDisabling save file zipping didn't help even one bit, I heard that people with SSD drives don't really have that problem ( no idea if that is true or not but seems like it). Couldn't it go back to the old way though ? It worked then just fine, I mean prior gloomrot patch

DavidOK, tried a few things:
Noticed my game was installed on my slow disk drive. Switch off save compression and this seemed to resolve the issue.
Moved my game to my NVME SSD and switched save compression back on, and it was much better, but still had some rubber banding, maybe once every couple of minutes rather than every 20-30 seconds.
Will continue to run with save compression switched off and let you know if any further issues. -

dPilgrimDisabling save file zipping do not do any difference.
And I run it on a SSD (Samsung 870 EVO). -

Ruth Dominguez AdminHello! We patched the game about 30 minutes ago, and this should've been fixed!
Please let us know if you're still experiencing similar issues after the hotfix! -

AedeusStill experiencing this issue, although the hotfix seems to have helped smooth it out, as it is not as noticeable or as prolific as it was before, but still regularly occurring.
I have made a post if you'd like to merge it. -

mcspacecashHosting a dedicated server on my laptop (Dell G7 7590 Model: G7590-7367GRY-PUS), running on ethernet with gigabit internet. I run fien on my desktop, but my buddy who joins experiences sever rubber banding to the point where everything around him disappears and he can't move--his game eventually crashes. It is entirely unplayable for him. I have set the auto-save interval to every 10 minutes and have tried switching between compressed saves on and off. Nothing makes a difference for him. He just bought the DLC so he's pretty bummed we can't play together.

darius404Ok, neither the recent hotfix nor editing ServerHostSettings fixed my issue, it's not related to autosaving at all for me. Huge lag spikes where I can't do anything, then the game "catches up" to a new location far ahead (or sometimes behind!). In the meantime enemies still act, I've died this way or been knocked off my horse. It sometimes happens with only a few seconds in between. This did NOT happen to me before the Gloomrot update. Severely frustrating.
p.s. I can't tell, is this the rubberbanding people are talking about, or something else? I can create my own bug report with this text if that helps. -

dPilgrimMy rubberbanding vanished after the Hotfix.
PS Aren't you intrested in making it possible to attach a dxdiag file for your own scrutiny? DS -

MaxI can confirm on a beefy dedicated machine, SSD and all, there are rubberbands on auto-save.
This does not happen during the first hours, but after it is running for a few hours, auto saves clearly match with the times the server players face rubberbanding during a few seconds.
This issue is NOT fixed. -

Natty UltraYes, I'm experiencing the same issue, even after the patch.

KraveiThe problem still consists. This rubberbanding or studdering is happening even on the main screen. Already removed and reinstalled the game multiple times, checked drivers, also leaving the game, and coming back does not fix it. This does not happen in another game and it was not a problem before the update. My system is 12 gen i7, 32gb ram, and RTX 3080 which should run the game perfectly fine.

JohnIf anyone is still dealing with large lag spikes/stuttering, rubber-banding, try turning of "AMD FSR 1.0" in graphics settings. I noticed it was enabled even before Gloomrot and made things unplayable. I disabled it and the game runs smooth as butter. This also caused bluescreens in WoW lol.
I realize lag spikes etc are normally internet/server connection issues which is why i had a horrible time trying to figure out the problem before. But i can say to my surprise turning off this setting fixed it for us.
Worth a shot if anyone is having a tough time trying to find a solution! -

MikeHuge rubber banding to the point I don't even hit anything on my keyboard an character just ice skates around my castle. Then my character just randomly disappears and I am not even able to hit escape and have to alt+f4. Completely unplayable for me.

ElizabethThis issue is not fixed; the rubberbanding continues to happen.

lilibatIt is still happening and getting worse for us. We are running on a private server locally hosted on a box in the other room. We have turned off the save compression and verified it is in effect by file size. Game is nearly unplayable at this point.

TrathanStill having this issue. I've noticed it is less frequent in areas you hang around a lot. Moving about my castle for instance I don't see it too often. When I am out and about though it is prevalent. Especially when riding long distances, like the game is unable to keep up to where you character is, or is severely lagging on loading in assets.

lilibatStill rubberbanding, unable to play because of it.

OminousI've played through the BS with others on the server having no issues until the top tier bosses and I just cant anymore. I keep hoping for a fix. I try and stay positive as I see so much potential in this game but I'm feeling like I've wasted about 400 hours right now and its a special kind of bitter. There's just no way to progress with how broken the game is. Others on my server having no issues but my rig is above par and my network is as well. Turning off compression has made it just a little more consistent and less extreme but not to a point that is playable.

MARK MONTGOMERYHaving rubber-band issues and freeze frame issues while in combat. Also was DCed 5 times within 2 hours playing solo account.
