Aaron MergedCastle cannot be built on the lower floor where there is a floor above it. Kinda sucks.

MalkoviFor the love of god please fix this.. Its my only gripe with the new update but it makes designing cool bases so much more of a pain..

NikExperiencing this as well, should definitely be able to place the throne below a ceiling

Ealso experiencing this when there is no floor above too. In my case there are stairs to the side of the tile where I'm placing the throne (stairs are on the floor above but not over the tile where i'm trying to place), it also says its blocked by the floor above.
Either way I hope it's not intentional. It'd suck if you can't build floors above where you want your throne.
I hope the image clear enough shows where I'm trying to place it as well as the fact that there is no floor directly above. -

Jay TurnerRan into this issue tonight as well. Had to use an invisible floor foundation and create a hole in my second floor for the throne to fit

DarthNeoSame issue here, can't place a Throne on the bottom floor if there is a floor above it, it clips through the upper floor.
It happens with all 3 Thrones (normal and DLC ones) -

ENIAKI learned about this weird feature the opposite way. I tried to build a second floor over my throne and the game said the floor placement was being blocked by "something below".
I had to experiment removing things to discover that it was the throne causing the problem. -

LordTo add: same thing is happening with soul shards, which is kinda annoying since I want to place them inside my castle

Helen MergedThe model of the throne is too high, which makes it impossible to place the throne in rooms where there is a second floor. When placed on a free cell, a roof does not appear on the first floor, although the second floor has a roof.

Feedback910220This probably isn't a bug but an intentional game design decision.

JazzyI have the same groundfloor hall template since way before gloomrot, involving the throne being in the middle, now can't even place it indoors let alone where I want it :(

Nick DavisonIf you use the invisible floor tiles above the throne area, then wall around them, you can create a two-storey area for your throne.

StrangeDynastyAdding onto this as I don't believe people should be forced to put their thrones on the topmost floor, nor should we have to cut out sections of floors above just so it does fit (ie. make a two story section that cuts into the floor above just to fit the throne).

KensicThe throne height needs to be adjusted. There is no reason for it to be that tall and limit second-floor building.

AzraelWorks perfectly fine in my two-floored throne room, just use the empty slot floor meant for blaconies to create an open space where your throne can sit. Also make throne rooms easily accessible, as it is similar to a grand salon and often placed after one or after the foyer to receive dignitaries and impress nobles, so you don't hide those rooms somewhere up in a tower.
So I disagree with Kensic, the throne should be the grandest object in the room. It may even be bigger and more impressive had it more function than it does now. -

xLacedxWhy is this marked not a bug? Did the devs really intend for the castle throne to not be able to be built with a floor above it? Visually the throne doesn't even go above one floor, so you shouldn't be prevented from putting a floor over it. A lot, see *most*, of the territories are small now, yes I want a great magnificent throne room, but due to size I also need and should be able to put a floor over it if I want. I like having castle grounds around my castle too, so I don't want to have to build buildings all over it just so I can fit everything in because now we have wallpapers(like really see the tops of wallpaper in the floor above how was that not noticed in testing?), thrones, shards, etc that don't fit in one floor. So what's the point of having multi-level castles if not everything is going to work with the multi-levels?

SonoranDefinitely needs to be addressed, decrease the model size to fit in one floor, that way it's more flexible. I already had my whole castle layout by the time I wanted to finally place a throne, had the spot and everything, and then it just can't go.
If I remove the floor above and make space, it's going to prevent me from accessing the upper rooms in my castle, as it's a one wide path after going upstairs. -

SonoranAdding another comment to show the top floor pathway I'm talking about (you can see the stairs that lead up resulting in this in the first image)
Currently my fix is to leave my waygate where the throne should be, and put the throne on my outdoor balcony, where the waygate should be... so they're in opposite places atm, but at least I can make it work for now. -

snips86xHad to make it work which isn't ideal but this shouldn't be an issue and I should be allowed to place my throne where I like. Hell, I can put it outside, so why not with an internal balcony?
