Unique weapon effects persist after unequipping weapon
After unequipping a weapon which could apply the 'Static' debuff using its primary skill (Q), I could still apply the debuff using another weapon of the same type.

Nero MergedI experienced this and was able to recreate it:
Crafted a blue axe that had condemn on it, use the axe to attack and applied condemn on mobs.
Deposited blue axe with condemn into a box. Picked up sanguine axes. Sanguine axes then applied condemn on the q every single time.
Unsure as to if the additional weapon traits applied as well. -

Reiven#4444 MergedI have encountered an issue where my dark silver greatsword Q is applying chaos ignite. I previously used a magic item (blue rarity) greatsword with chaos infusion but I unequipped that yesterday, yet somehow my dark silver greatsword has inherited the property and now inflicts chaos ignite, I've shared a player.log with Bearemy.
I don't know how to reproduce the bug. -

Ulerith MergedWas about to report this issue but saw it already posted.
I equipped a darksilver greatsword and it inherited the condemn power of my headmans warblade.
Im running on a private pingperfect unmodded server.
Nobody else on my private server uses greatswords, but it initially seems to only happen to greatswords.
I had headmans greatsword equipped and in my hands. put darksilver greatsword into my bags, equipped it from my bar. Moved the darksilver greatsword onto the same bar location as my old greatsword, put the old greatsword in the chest.
I dont know if this is the exact step by step but I no longer have possession of the old sword, yet the effect lingers. Swapping weapons or tools does not remove it, and dropping the weapon on the ground and picking it up also still retains the effect. -

Paidian MergedFor instance, I crafted a sword with the "apply static on Q" effect. If I were to craft another sword without and equip that instead, it still applies the static effect whenever I use the Q skill.
This is especially apparent when switching from iron weapons to silver weapons. Right now I have the non-unique variants of those weapons and I shouldn't have access to the effects until the Styx fight (since crafting those requires onyx stone) but I can just craft iron unique weapons with the effect that I desire and then switch to the silver weapons even before the Styx fight. -
21 May, '23
Paidian MergedI think weapons carry the properties of the last wielded weapon of that type. If you craft any weapon of a type with an effect, all the future weapons, until they have their own effect, apply.

Tankers#6933 MergedI have found an odd bug/exploit.
I haven't been able to test it with other weapons yet, but in my case atleast it looks like legendary gun effects carry over to non legendary one.
I was using level 19 legendary guns(which I still have in my inventory) that has an effect of inflicting condemn status effect.
I made sanguine pistols now that are not a legendary weapon and while using it, the effects of the other legendary gun carry over to it. It also inflicts condemn while it has no business to. -
22 May, '23
Setos78 MergedIf you used a weapon of level 19, then when you change weapons to level 23 (of the same type), the weapon of level 23 retains the infusion that the weapon of the 19th had. (checked on several weapons - it reproduced on all).

Jonathan S MergedI'm sorry for the bad title, but I'm having a bit of a hard time to explain it in 1 sentence.
Issue:
after using a fractured weapon and you switch to another weapon of the same base type that is not fractured you will keep the added ability to your 'A' attack.
Example: I was using a fractured axe with 19 power that adds condemn to my attacks on enemies with the A/Q attack. After upgrading my axes to dark silver I was able to keep the condemn status effect on my axes even though they are not fractured.
How to reproduce the issue:
Have a fractured weapon equipped and access the smithy. Make a better base type weapon and when its ready and in the smithies inventory manually drag it over the slot where your fractured weapon is in your inventory to have them switch places (will NOT work when you drag it over the slot on your hotbar). What you do with the fractured item in the smithy after that does not matter (we gave it to a servant). -

Resieh MergedCan confirm this as it happened on our server as well for everyone with Dark Silver weapons. What it seems to be is it copies whatever effect was on your previous equipped Tier 19 weapon of the same type. It happened with various weapons for each person and copied whatever effect they had on their tier 19 weapon respectively.
-
23 May, '23
Lord MergedTo add. According to my observations, any normal weapon gets the effect of the last used legendary weapon of the same type.
For example I made a couple of legendary swords (blood and electricity) and one regular sword. After I used the sword with blood, the regular got the same effect. The same thing happened after using the electric one.
UPD: by saying "legendary" I mean any shattered weapon, both blue and orange rarity. -

I have come across the same bug! While it is definitely fun on solo PvE servers this might be an issue on PvP servers. As far as I can tell, the bug works on all weapons as I managed to replicate this effect on different weapons. My findings:
This bug happens when I build a silver tier weapon while I have a legendary version of that weapon. for example, if I build a silver spear while i have a legendary spear on my hotbar, that silver spear inherits the status application upgrade to the Q ability. I have multiple silver weapons now that apply statuses such as ignite to enemies using the Q ability. Photo included. -

Report: Since Gloomrot patch, Darksilver weapons equipped (or possibly any weapon of the same type) keeps the Blue Shattered weapon effect from the prior weapon you had equipped. This is a permanent "Buff". For Example: I have had a (Lvl 26) Sanguine Xbow with no effect still applying Ignite on a Q from the last (Lvl 19) Blue Shattered xbow I owned and my (Lvl 23) Darksilver Greatsword with no effect still applies Condemn on the Q from my last (Lvl 19) Blue Shattered Greatsword.
Other users also report the same issue with nothing special done besides upgrading to the next grade of weapons.
I have not tested much with this but I assume the a similar effect would occur with the legendary shattered weapons. Also unsure if the effect would stack if you equip different shattered weapons, but if this does occur it would be entirely balance breaking.

Zloth MergedAbility modifications / infusions are not removed after dequiping a same-type weapon. For example: if one were to craft & equip a Storm-infused General's Greatspear (lvl 19, ancestral), then switch to Dark Silver Spear (lvl 23) or any same-type weapon lacking an ability modification, the respective weapon skill will behave as if infused. Even if the ancestral weapon is removed from inventory, given to a servant, etc, the weapon will retain the ability modification of the last equipped, infused weapon. Ability modifications will not stack. Attached picture shows the results of this bug; a Sanguine Spear (not weapon mod) clearly applying Ignite that lingered from a previously equipped spear that possessed that infusion.
Although this is likely a bug, please consider keeping this as a feature. Weapon infusions are a fun mechanic and would be nice to keep while transitioning tiers; the lost stat bonuses from ancestral weapons are smoothed due to getting inherently more powerful gear. -

Trissiex MergedHello, I have noticed that if you have a weapon from the ancestral forge that has some special effect on a skill, it transfers if you equip a weapon without it. For example, I have a sword that gives electric on Q, now I upgraded to dark silver, and it still gives electric on Q.

DyrainV2 MergedHi new guy here, I just have a question. Is it just me or Shattered weapon effects retain when you upgrade to darksilver weapons? because for some reason my equipped darksilver weapons show attacks like they are shattered weapons (e.g. My leech effect on my shattered weapon on "Q" does the same on my darksilver weapon when I press "Q") my english is not perfect I am sorry
Another example is how when my previous Shattered Greatsword has "Condemn" effect on Q and raises skeletons and when I upgraded to darksilver weapons I noticed how enemies attacked by my "Q" on my darksilver weapon now shows effects of "condemn" and yes, they turn to skeletons -

Pariah MergedI had a blue/merciless iron tier legendary reaper that applied condem on it's Q ability.
Eventually I upgraded to a dark silver reaper and sanguine reaper later on, both of these weapons still applied the comdemn on their Qs, making it so skeletons spawned in after each kills due to condemn, further making me belief it was indeed bugged.
I have now acquired an orange/sanguine tier legendary reaper that applies weaken on Q press and has since no longer caused the condemn being applied on Q any more.
Further note, I always kept the reaper on the number 4 slot of my hotbar and this was a private world for myself only.
Thanks for the amazing game and good luck with the bug fixing. -

Steam build ID: 11360518
REPORT:
A spell effect from an enchanted blue Merciless Iron Mace I was previously using, had stuck around for a while when it probably should not have. It added a condemn effect to the leaping Q strike ability, and when that target dies, it spawned skeletons.
After upgrading to a Dark Silver Mace, when using Q, the effect was still applied and I got skeletons without having any ability to do so / or enchant / or gem modifying a spell. This continued to my Sanguine Mace, and was I believe only overwritten when I got a newer legendary mace with a Leach ability on the Q.
Have you tried any solutions?
Got a Mace with a new ability, the old spell effect spawning free skeletons out of thin air disappeared.
To reinforce, my playstyle had 0 ability to summon mobs, outside of the 1 mace ability applying condemn. I use 75% Storm, with a Blood Rush. -
