Compulsively Count doesn't always work
Even when I have the same item in a chest as I do in my inventory, Compulsively Count doesn't always stack what I have from my inventory into the chest, and then I have to manually add it to the chest anyways.

Matthew MergedNot sure of a pattern quite yet but I was able to compulsively count into my wood chest and misc chest, not sure if it's item specific or if it is chest specific. The chests are slim bookcases. Will send another report if I figure out a pattern.

Lucinda the Poe MergedThis happens intermittently for me as well. I can't find a consistent behavior. Sometimes it happens when I already had the bags open and sometimes it happens when I opened them after accessing storage. I don't think it's lag because leaving it for10 seconds or so then trying it doesn't always result in it working. Closing and reopening storage, bags doesn't even always seem to fix it.

I tried to replicate "Compusively Count doesn't always stack" and it does when you don't close your inventory (in most of my testing).
When you change chests by pressing the tab to close the tab (and keeping the inventory open) the "Compusively Count" button does not work. -

KapzyThis happened to me just now too - tried multiple chests, putting it in the chest, taking it out making sure other stacks of the same items were in there and clicking the button did nothing. Resolved after restarting the client and server.

max francisI have been able to consistently reproduce this bug when rapidly changing between adjacent containers. It doesnt have a problem with me quickstacking when i open the container without another menu open but when changing from container to container without first closing the first the compulsively count ceases to function until i completely close all menus and then reopen the container

Raylios MergedI don't know why it just doesn't work and to fix it you either move the storage to another point or press CTRL once, it may happen for multiple storages so you have to press CTRL for every storage that doesn't let you "compulsively count".

Nick DavisonRe-opening the chest always fixes this issue, so it's probably something related to retrieving the containers contents

Yakusho MergedNot sure if that happens every session, I've been playing the entire day and was getting bothered that my items wouldn't go to the chests using compulsively count, I discovered that that only happened when I used it on one chest and then went to another chest without closing my inventory

Compulsively Count doesn't work for storages if the inventory is already open.
Closing the inventory first and then opening a storage will enable Compulsively Count to work.
This problem doesn't seem to happen with crafting benches.
Have you tried any solutions?

Lucinda the PoeI have found that it at least most often seems to happen if my bags were already open when I accessed the storage container. I saw someone else post that it happens in wolf form but I can reproduce the problem in default form if my inventory is already open when I open the container. I believe this might be the triggering condition.

baronreignI've been able to reproduce this bug almost 100% of the time, when you have your inventory open, or inventory of a container open, before opening a new by close container the "Compulsively Count" button won't work, most likely the button is being applied to the previous container. To fix this issue, is just to close the inventory and reopen the new container/inventory.

Grubfist Mergedthe Compulsively Count button never works for me if I have my inventory open when I open the chest. This is a fairly significant issue, as when I am sorting things after returning to my base, I am always looking at my inventory to remind myself what rooms I need to head to.

HobbesI can consistently recreate and workaround this error by doing the following.
2
Assumptions:
Player must be standing near an owned storage container. Such as a chest.
Both the player and said storage container must have items in their inventory that could stack. Such as stacks of wood in both inventories.
Steps to recreate this error with these assumptions:
Step 1) Open the character inventory window.
Step 2) While the character inventory window is open, interact with a storage container to view its contents in a separate window.
Step 3) Press the [Compulsively Count] button -- Note nothing happens.
Expected outcome:
Pressing the [Compulsively Count] button in Step 3 should combine the stack(s) from the player's inventory to the storage container's inventory.
Workaround:
If the character inventory window is open, close it before interacting with a container. Interacting with a container will automatically open the character inventory and stacking works normally. -

AaronI have found that if you open a chest/storage unit with your inventory already open the compulsively count button won't work. But, if you close your inventory, so that neither your inventory nor the storage unit inventory is open, then open the storage unit which should open both inventories the compulsively count button will work.

VinnieI've noticed this happens when you open an inventory for example opening 1 grinder hitting compulsively count and it works fine, if you don't close the inventory for the player before opening another grinder or interactive inventory it doesn't work.

Sasha Mergedprivate server but hosted by online hosting website.
main newest updated branch
if you click compulsively count button when your inventory is already open since before you open the chest it doesn't work until you close the chest and inventory then open the chest which opens the inventory for you only then does the compulsively count button actually work. -

Stephen NicolI have encountered this problem and it specifically happens when you already have your inventory open and then interact with a container. So the "Compulsively Count" count button is obviously disabled when you only have the inventory open but then it becomes active when you then interact with the container but clearly the function to actually perform the action doesn't trigger. Quitting out of the interaction with the container closes both inventory and container pop-ups and then if I interact with a container again then the "compulsively count" action works.

SeveryxHappens to me as well, specifically happens when inventory window is already open when opening a storage item.
-
09 Jun, '23
LuminoxI could figure out when this happens.
If your inventory doesn't get closed before going to another very close chest or some other storage, it won't add items with Compulsively Count. If you close and reopen your inventory before accessing the next chest, this bug doesn't appear. -
11 Jun, '23
SpeerOpening your inventory BEFORE opening a storage then the compulsively count doesn't work, however, having nothing open, opening a storage which opens you inventory automatically then the compulsively count does work.
Although I don't see this as big as a bug as other combat breaking ones out there. -
