after the patch was made
the server start to crash once i boot it up
i even made a fresh server to see if that solves it but still cause the same issue it crash

Just Updatet my Server with Steam Cmd.
GameVersion of Loaded Save: 0.6.0.57108, Current GameVersion: 0.6.1.57189
Now it crashes on startup. (the last visable line is under Savegame Crash)
Validating with Steam Cmd and setting it back to original Settings crashes too. (Vanilla Crash)
In console are some lines that recipe's appear both in refinementstationRecipes and WorkstationRecipes. (recipes.)
I hope thats okay.

In order to investigate this issue further we need some more information.

Please attach the following files in an email to logs@playvrising.com with a short description of the issue:
-The Player.log file from the session where the issue happened (located here: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising )
-The Server log file
-The .dmp files generated if there was a crash (located here: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRisingServer\backtrace\crashpad\reports )
-The server save files
-Any videos or pictures of the issue

Thank you for helping us identify the cause of this issue, we will try to find a fix as soon as possible.

Same for me. Deticated Server Crashes on Startup since Gloomrot Hotfix #1 and #2.
CMD starts and after a few seconds the window closes. Rolled my Server back to before Hotfix #1 and everything works fine, i even played a few hours.

Tried validating the files after Hotfix #1 and #2 but did not help.

I'm also running into this issue.
For me the last line in the serverlogging is "[Server] Shutting down Asynchronous Streaming".
After this the server process remains running in a zombie-like state, not allowing any connections.

This occurs just after the server prints the ServerGameSettings after it finishes loading the most recent autosave.

I loaded up my servers crashpad .dmp file (see screenshot) and it mentioned lib_burst_generated.dll

There is a steam forum thread that says deleting this file makes the _clients_ work, but it wasn't at dedicated servers.

After deleting the file on my dedicated server, it now loads in fine!

So, delete the file: VRisingServer_Data\Plugins\x86_64\lib_burst_generated.dll and start your servers. make sure steam auto update is off.

Mine does not start either. I have not run the dedicated server for 8 months. But with the update I wanted to kick off a new clean server. I can provide full log, but there are no errors in the log file. last few lines of the log are these:

after this the batch file running in the command terminal ends, silently.

the only error showing in the log is related to shaders... which were present in previous dedicated servers.

is there a way to turn on more debugging text in the log?

I would also like to add that, for me, there were no files in the crashpad\reports folder.

got the same here, but i found out that the server crashed over the eventlog in windows with an
Apllication Error 1000 for missing a dll (lib_burst_generated.dll). But this one can be ignored, cuz after a friend try to start the server on his local pc, he gets the same dll missing but the server is running.
and a second
Application Error 1005 for VRisingServer.exe - "Windows cannot access the "" file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk containing the saved file, or the storage drivers installed on the computer, or the disk is missing. The VRisingServer.exe program has been closed by Windows because of this error."

Im running the v-rising server on a VPS Win Server 2019, this one is hosted on a KVM Machine...

And im try to install a completly fresh server.

My Picture is in German cuz my Server is German language, but maybe it helps anyway.

Hi!

I've got a little different situation, because I'm trying run dedicated server on Linux with Wine. I do totally understand that this is not supported scenario, but I've got the same symthoms as Chrono: it was fine before the update, but breaks the day update been released - now server won't start even on clean steam installation (with steamcmd) and default configuration (which means no custom configuration at all - emty persistent directory). Also last log line is the same.

Hi Folks,
Game is crashing again after this hotfix. Got issues since bought it. I customized game settings before hotfixes and it helped. After hotfix 1 and 2 game was working fine. Unfortunately patch number 3 broke it again. I assume creating new game could fix it but after 25 hours going from the scratch is kind of frustrating.

REPORT:
I run a small private server on a new Win11 server. The dedicated server (installed through Steam) crashes anywhere from a few minutes to an hour after launch. I have 17 crash reports + logs that I can share with devs, but would prefer for that to be shared privately.

The only modified files are ServerGameSettings.json and ServerHostSettings.json. I modified the game to PvE and to increase clan size so our friend group can play together.

Have you tried any solutions?
Verifying files through Steam does not work

For server issues, is the server Official / Public non-official / Private? Private server

A few questions to help debug the issue:
1) Are you running on a supported platform (Windows) I've only seen this myself with Wine/Docker (Unsupported)
2) Are you running in a hypervisor? (In Proxmox hardware -> Processors -> type from kvm64 to Host)
3) What kind of CPU are you using? (On the game page, the game requires Intel 6th generation CPUs (Microarchitecture Skylake, circa 2015) or the AMD Ryzen 5 (Microarchitecture Zen circa 2017) and newer CPUs)

I was running the server on one of my
hp proliant dl380 g8 Windows 10 ( long story why w10 on that box )
No VM/hyper just raw on the computer
But now I'm running on my old gaming computer
Motherboard z97x gaming 5 don't remember the CPU it's Carry but not newest possible 5+ years old

And my other server runs on
hp proliant dl380 g2 with Windows Server 2016
