Top of pillar showing through double doorway on second floor

REPORT:
Trying to make an "open room" on 2nd floor. When placing double size doorway, the top of the pillar from downstairs will take priority over the doorway so it shows in the middle. I don't want to place an actual door here, I just want the room open to the air.
Can the devs reproduce the issue? See picture. This is on second floor with a full wall underneath on first floor.
Have you tried any solutions? Tried placing a door but that doesn't fix it either, it just looks worse somehow. Single doorways fix it but then I end up with a pillar in the middle anyway and that's not what I wanted.
Private server, but playing with no mods installed (vanilla).
