Gear score not updating after death

I'm having an issue where after death, gear score will not update unless you take all your armor off and put it back on.

Merciless PvP /w blood bound.

So when the Bloodbound setting is enabled. My gear score is set to 0 as the game doesn't register I have any items equipped after death. I see others are having this same issue from last July.
