Critical Overheating
Problem: V-Rising reaches critical temperatures of over 70 - 80 C within 10 minutes of gameplay using the lowest possible settings with fps limited both in-game and in nvidia.
Rig:
HP Pavilion 17 Gaming Laptop
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q Design
Driver Version 516.40
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
16GB RAM
Checked:
- Updated every Driver & Win10 update
- Ran various diagnostics, all with 0 errors
- Made sure the correct GPU is in use
- Verified Integrity of files
- Took laptop to a computer clinic and paid to make sure there was no hardware damage or software errors.
My laptop got a complete clean bill of health, and new thermal paste as a precaution. It made no difference when trying to play.
This has happened every time I've opened the game since May 20th.
My laptop is designed to handle heavy graphics, as I work in animation and render in Maya. No other game I play does this either. I really want to play V-Rising, but I can't risk my equipment to this issue.

PakterI am experiencing the same.
My 3080 TI runs at around 83C. Vsync and fps limit does not seem to do anything. I recently had the same problem in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, but vsync in that game lowered the temperature to a stable 60C. I know 83C technically shouldn't be a problem, but I'd rather not have the pc act as my room heater.
System:
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700F
Gainward 3080 TI Phoenix

Windows 11 Pro
