REPORT:
After the update, the game would not start. When launching the game, a window comes up labled BepInEx that runs some checks, then finishes with Chainloader startup complete. Then it closes, and another window pops up. I've attached a screenshot of that window. This window then closes, and after a second or two, steam shows that the game is no longer running. No other splash screens appear. The game window does not show up. Checking the task manager confirms the game is not running.
I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled, as well as restarted, and the issue persists.

Report: After the new update on May 17th, when I click PLAY, the doesn`t even start. There is no message or crash pop ups, Steam goes "playing" and then "play" again and nothing happens. I could play the game without issues before this. I haven't modified my game files and haven't installed any mods.

I have tried verifying game files and restarting my PC, but I still get the same issue.

Hello, I have a problem here, an update was released on May 19. After that, when you log in to the server, the game itself crashes without errors. A fix for this bug was released on May 20, but the problem also remained.

It is May 22, 2023 and there was an update posted today that says some crashes were fixed but i still cannot play the game. everytime i try to join a server (i can load up the game fine) it crashes either immediately during the loading screen of joining about when it says "ready- click to continue, or i can get to character creation and it freezes and stops responding and crashes there. this is really frustrating because i love this game and was excited for the update but it is unplayable

I am having a similar issue. The game loads, I load my local server (or a new server). Once that finishes loading, it shows the ready- click to continue. When I click the GUI disappears and the game is no longer on the taskbar.
Task manager shows VRisingServer.exe as running, but everything else stopped.
The last time I played was 05/16.

There are 4 entries in Windows Logs (which are too big to put here) but they indicate

Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program VRising.exe because of this error.

Is anyone else seeing an AppHang_Vrising .exe error. Is windows shutting down the program for some reason? I am on Windows 11 and my son is playing and has had zero issues on windows 10. Is windows 11 an issue for this game at the current time?

Today my game was crashing on start up, Someone sent me a link to another report with a possible fix ( I will link). The fix did not work for me. I then realized I was on the game yesterday and then I updated my graphics card. I have now just gone back to the previous graphics update and its back to normal. I had another issue with another program on my pc that didnt work after the recent graphics update and reverting to the previous update also fixed this issue. So if you have any issues with your pc/game it might be the graphics card update.

Please attach the following files in an email to logs@playvrising.com with a short description of the issue:
-The Player.log file from the session where the issue happened (located here: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising )
-The .dmp file generated if there was a crash (located here: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\backtrace\crashpad\reports )

I'm having this same issue and it has rendered the game unplayable. The game was running fine and now I just get a black screen when it starts. Started with the may 26 update. I've now lost everything and received zero help from support. I understand it's early release. But I would at least expect a response for a game that was paid for that's now unplayable

This very disappointing. I havent started a game in so long where Ive instantly been addicted to the gameplay, mechanics, and couldn't put it down. Bought this game a few weeks back and ive been playing nonstop, suggesting it to friends who have also bought it now. Its been amazing. I had extremely high hopes. The game then forced an update and now nobody can play bc the screen just goes black when you launch it. Vrising keeps running but nothing happens., And now its unplayable. This has caused everyone to lose all their progress bc we couldnt log in to feed our castle. If it was a 1 day thing that would be one thing, hell even a few day thing. But its been far too long at this point and i doubt we will return. Because, why,, to risk everything being lost again. What makes it worse is i havent heard any official communication from the devs with updates or even an acknowledgement of the problem

I've come back to play Gloomrot and now the game consistently crashes (played around 50h before this patch with no problem). One of two things consistently happen at any given time in-game:
1. (most common) the game suddenly closes without any errors after less than 10 minutes playing)
2. (less frequent) game freezes, music goes on and I have to tell Windows to shut it down

This happened 100% of the many times I tried (a couple dozen at least). I've tried all the random simple solutions like verifying integrity, reinstalling, etc. The system meets the requirements by far and everything is up-to-date. Tried official online servers as well as hosting a private game, same result.

Whenever I run a solo game and I leave the game unattended while I am in my coffin (from the Dracula DLC) for several hours and then return, if I immediately awaken and then click on my servant coffin it crashes the game. I've been able to reproduce this several times, and it also crashed if I immediately engaged in combat outside my keep.

After hotpatch 5 the server no longer boots. We get a a fatal error on steam connection and crash.

What happens? Please give as many details as possible.
SteamLog [SDR k_ESteamNetworkingSocketsDebugOutputType_Warning] SDR network config fetch first attempt failed. No response from server. Trying again.
Waited for GameServer LogOn for over 30 seconds. Fatal error.

Looking at the connection logs it shows connectivity test is OK

No, I have yet to be able to play the game at all after purchasing, downloading, and updating :(

See above; I go to start the game via Steam, the game attempts to update/patch, I get the Unity crash-screen and the app quits.

I think so yes, assuming CH Aurora counts. Haven't gotten it to run, obviously.

Yes, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, doing a File Verification, as well as repairing the Steam client. Restarting my PC hasn't helped.

while i was playing V-Rising, I encountered the following problems:
* some time after start the game, game was crashed without any error messages. if i restart the game without reboot PC, it repeats faster.

Game crash started not long after June of 2023. Was reinstalling to play with a friend, when it started giving me the BepIn Prompt, then a Crash fine. Originally got the BepIn prompt and it would work. No mods added, nor do I intend to. I restart every other week when PC Updates come in. Drivers are all updated to peak levels for now.
