Castle Heart

I loaded into a public PVE server, was having trouble finding a place to build. Finally found a castle that was decaying, i tried clicking the "Unlock things temporarly" option first, it didn't seem to work but updated my "upgrade your castle heart to level 2" quest, which i wasn't on ofc, and when i destroyed the heart, i went to my build menu and found i didn't even have a castle heart to place. I still don't, after logging out and in, and switching locations.
