When mpunted on horseback spear doesn't hit grass/flowers

When mounting a horse and using a spear, the spear seems to be unable to hit and damge grass/ flowers. The issue is tested with all horses (normal and vampiric, with sadle or without) and with all the spears (bone, copper, iron etc.). When you press the attack button with a spear while on horseback, it will attack everything in its arc and damage everything exepct the grass/flowers while still playing the sound of harvesting grass/flowers.
