World does not render

when creating a new world or joining an existing one everything works fine until i spawn in the crypt, character creation works fine, but the entire world is nothing but fog/not rendered
persists after leaving the crypt
-issue started after the 1.1 update
-game is not modified

🔧 Troubleshooting Steps so far:
-pc restarted
-all drivers up to date
-before update could run game on highest settings
-verified files via steam
-reinstalled game
-running on linux, so tried various compatibility options: Proton Experimental, Proton Hotfix, GE-Proton9-27
problem persists, system monitor shows no anomaly

🌐 Server Information:
-tested on Private and public servers
-persists regardless of host

so far unable to identify cause
