Build mode crash in Gloomrot

Found this strange bug while trying to build a base in the gloomrot region (don't judge me I just like the area). I can build a few things, place one or two walls, then the game crashes to desktop. The bug reporter windows opens for a few seconds, then closes without a message.
I've already explored the area a bit to grab some ressources and a boss, went smoothly without a bug.
It doesn't seem to happen with any particular building item : it crashed first when building the stable station, then when building an extended gate, then again placing stairs, and a fourth time placing a wallpaper. Games run smoothly in the castle's area as long as I don't open build mode.
-No mods are used
-Single player mode
-Didn't have a single crash before when building in other regions

I verified the game files, deleted the v3/v4 folders, my PC is above the min req (I never had any trouble with this game before). Drivers are up to date.
