Feeding an imprisoned werewolf corrupted fish as a human can kill them and count as eating gruel

I had a 98% werewolf I got to my base and imprisoned from the area with that boss.
Soon afterwards, still during the day (so as a worker) I fed the person a corrupted fish to try to get them to 100%.
Instead the inmate immediately died and I got the "you killed an inmate with irradiated gruel" achievement.
Expected:
This would act like feeding an inmate corrupted fish, not gruel and the loss of the inmate.
