Solo Server not saving

I have been playing in short bursts and have to leave game as I step away from my computer,
3 times now I have put about 30 minutes in then logged out after clearing a few bosses and getting a full bag of loot only to log back in later exactly where I was BEFORE the last 30 minute session...
This has happened 3 times in a row and is quite disheartening to my desire to keep playing.
